METHOD & NOTES

How url inspector works

Split an absolute HTTP or HTTPS URL into readable parts.

Formula and convention

Use the browser URL parser to report protocol, host, path, query entries, and fragment.

A worked example

The sample uses HTTPS, host example.org, port 8443, path /docs, and query q=hello world.

Scope and precision

Parsing does not fetch the address or verify it is safe. International hostnames and paths may be normalized.

Displayed results may be rounded. Inputs are processed locally and are not stored by this site. Keep the original values if you need to reproduce the result.

Why might another tool give a different result?

Compare unit definitions, rounding, period assumptions, and input values. This page states the convention used by this calculator.
